Communication and Media Advocacy
We build positive ideas around gender, HIV/AIDS, SRHR, human rights, climate justice, and WASH through a diverse range of media platforms. Our initiatives include airing radio and TV programmes, facilitating debates in schools, and fostering discussions on social media, ensuring that these critical topics reach a broad and engaged audience.
UGE’s collaboration with community radio stations, aims to strengthen programming that addresses gender-based violence and inequality at the community level. Our special partnerships with community radio stations are vital to amplifying local voices and experiences.
Through our media efforts, we shine a light on the lived realities of violence, using these narratives as powerful evidence of the urgent need for change. By highlighting these issues, we advocate for a society where gender equity and human rights are upheld and protected.
Community Education and Mobilization
UGE’s is deeply committed to fostering gender equality and addressing gender-based violence (GBV), HIV/AIDS, and other critical issues in communities. Working closely with men, women, girls, and boys, we strive to build grassroots activism and ensure equality before the law for all. Our approach involves empowering local communities through capacity building, including training community volunteers who serve as the backbone of our organization.
We also prioritize working with traditional and faith leaders, engaging them as champions for change. In addition to focusing on gender issues, we also prioritize building capacity for climate change and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) initiatives. By raising awareness, mobilizing communities, and fostering alliances with local stakeholders, UGE aims to create lasting change and promote sustainable development in the regions we serve.
